You’re probably going to end up in Mystic because it has some of the best family hotels in Connecticut.
If so, we recommend taking a tour of the Mystic Seaport Museum, which explores the seaport village’s centuries-old maritime heritage.
Guests are invited to take a trip back in time by touring historic shipyards and boarding restored vessels.
Their cutting-edge exhibits complement these first-hand experiences.
After that, grab a bite to eat or go shopping for some fantastic souvenirs.

  1. Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, New Haven
    Since 1866, this museum has been collecting artifacts, so it’s no surprise that their ten scientific exhibits are so impressive.
    From geology to human history, you’ll learn about many aspects of the natural world here.
    But there’s more to the world than rocks and fossils.
    Check out their Discovery Room for engaging hands-on activities.
    Spending the day here is, in our opinion, one of the best things to do with kids when it’s raining.
    This museum is equally appealing to teenagers as it is too small for children.
    3. It Adventure Ropes Course—New Haven
    One of the best family vacations we’ve ever had in Connecticut included a visit to the It Adventure Ropes Course, which offers nonstop thrills for young adventurers.
    Young adventurers can have their fill of the four-level rope course, rock-wall climbing, bungee jumping, and other activities.
    This safe, controlled environment is exciting, but it also helps to develop confidence and character.
    Teens and tweens enjoy it here, but there are also activities for younger children.
    4. The Mark Twain House & Museum—Hartford
    Visit the mansion once owned by one of the country’s most famous figures.
    The beautiful Victorian-style house alone is worth a visit.
    However, this museum tour includes an entertaining guide, an introductory film, and informative exhibits.
    After the tour, eat at the Nook Cafe and browse the souvenir shop.
    This is simply one of our favorite family-friendly destinations.
    Children who are old enough to enjoy a good story will enjoy this experience, as will their parents.
    5. Ocean Beach Park, New London
    Ocean Beach Park offers much more than simply sand and waves, which is what makes it one of the greatest family beaches in Connecticut.
    There are plenty of fun things to do, like mini golf, rides, and a pool with a water slide.
    So think of this as your go-to place if you’re searching for something a little extra or free kid-friendly beach activities.
    Alternatively, eat at the delicious Sandbar Cafe, Boardwalk Galley, or Denny’s on the beach, or pack a picnic.
    All ages of children are invited to play in the water.
  2. USS Nautilus — Groton

For a really unique experience, board the USS Nautilus.

Both children and adults find it intriguing to examine the museum’s large collection of knowledge and items relating to submarines.

For families wishing to improve their submarine trip, scavenger hunts and self-guided tours are also available.

Children aged 3 and above will love the USS Nautilus Museum.

A trip to Foxwoods, one of our favorite family resorts in Connecticut, wouldn’t be complete without taking the Highflyer Zipline from Fox Tower.

From 33 stories up, soar to the Pequot Museum to complete the journey.

You may ride at any age, which may surprise you.

Only weight can limit thrill-seekers.

  1. The Marine Aquarium-Norwalk

Visitors to The Maritime Aquarium do more than just observe fish swimming in tanks.

Nearly 7,000 distinct creatures are available for interaction at this outstanding Connecticut landmark.

One of the nicest kid-friendly destinations nearby is this aquarium, which has no age limitations.
