Black History Month is a month for celebrating the history and accomplishments of African Americans. There are many teaching tools available that can help teach about Black History Month and help students learn more about the history of African Americans.
In honor of Black History Month, here are six teaching tools to help students learn more about the history of the black community.

- Articles
Article writing is a great way to learn about different aspects of black history. Some great titles to consider are “How to Talk to Your Kids About Black History Month,” “The Black Panther Party,” and “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: The Making of a Black Icon.”
- Documentaries and oral histories on social media
Social media can be great for learning about the different aspects of black history. Some great social media documentaries to consider are “Fences,” “Up in Smoke,” and “The Cosby Show: An Oral History.”
- Exhibits
Exhibits can be great for learning about the different aspects of black history. Some great exhibits to consider are “The Black Panthers’ Dilemma,” “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: The Making of a Black Icon,” and “The Black Panther Party: A History in Pictures.”
