A Novel Way to Administer Assessments

Have you ever considered allowing the learners to move around the room while taking a test or working on new concepts?

In this approach, learners can either work alone, in pairs, or with small groups. The point of the approach is to challenge them to answer as many questions as they can while they are moving around the room.

This approach takes preparation beforehand, but the results can be remarkable.

To do this approach, the educator will have to develop questions beforehand or have learners develop questions. Once the questions are formulated, the questions are placed around the room for all to see.

After the questions are placed, the individuals, pairs, or small groups rotate around the class, looking at the questions and working on solutions.

You can determine how you want to have learners keep a record of their responses.
