Founded in 1896, Adelphi University is a private institution situated on a 75-acre site in Garden City, New York. The historic Long Island location is about 45 minutes from New York City, and numerous beaches and parks are within easy striking distance. The institution itself won Best Public Garden for its beautiful grounds in the Best of Long Island Awards. Adelphi students come from 43 states and 64 countries.
Academics are supported by a 10:1 student/faculty ratio and a mean undergraduate class size of 21. Exemplary students might be interested in the Honors College.
