Alabama A&M University, or AAMU, is a public, historically black institution situated in Normal, a town just north of Huntsville, Alabama. Today Alabama A&M is a doctoral degree-granting institution with over 6,100 students. A 14:1 student/faculty ratio supports the AAMU curriculum. Exemplary students should investigate the Honors Program for access to unique courses, professional development opportunities, cultural events, and a community service emphasis. Student life is robust with over 100 student organizations and clubs, including fraternities and sororities.
