Carroll College President John Cech has announced his intention to retire in June 2025, after serving the institution for over a decade. Cech, who took the helm in 2014, has steered the college through significant growth and transformation, leaving a lasting mark on the institution’s academic landscape.
Under Cech’s leadership, Carroll College saw a notable increase in enrollment, bolstering its academic programs and expanding its physical footprint. The college witnessed the construction of new facilities, including the state-of-the-art Simplot Science Center and the renovated campus center. Cech also spearheaded a strategic initiative to enhance student life, focusing on fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.
“It has been an immense privilege to lead Carroll College for the past decade,” said Cech in his announcement. “I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside such a dedicated and passionate community. While I look forward to the next chapter of my life, I remain deeply committed to ensuring a smooth transition and continued success for Carroll College.”
The Board of Trustees has initiated the search for a new president, aiming to ensure a seamless transition. Cech’s departure marks the end of a transformative era for Carroll College, but his legacy of academic excellence and community building will continue to shape the institution’s future. His leadership has positioned Carroll College for continued success, poised for a bright future under its next president.
