Five Ways to Walk the Compassionate Leadership Talk

There are many ways to walk the compassionate leadership talk. Below are five ways to start.

1. Start with your own emotions.

As we discussed earlier, one of the most important things you can do when leading with compassion is to start with your emotions. This means being honest with yourself and honestly assessing where you are in terms of your emotions. Once you know where you are, you can start to work on building a foundation of compassion in your own life.

2. Be mindful of your words.

Just as important as being emotionally honest, be mindful of your words. This means always thinking about what you say and how it will be received. When you are speaking with compassion, your words must match up.

3. Be aware of your body language.

This means always being conscious of how you are communicating with others. This can include everything from your facial expressions to the way you move.

4. Be present.

Finally, be present. This means being aware of everything happening around you and taking in all the information. When you are present, you are more likely to be compassionate.

5. Practice.

Finally, practice. This means incorporating compassionate leadership into your day-to-day life. This can be done by practicing kindness towards others, being mindful of your words and actions, and being present.
