There are many fun fraction games for kids to play to help them learn about math. Here are a few of the best:
1. Fraction Bingo: Print out a Bingo board with fraction squares on it. Players draw a square and cover it with a number from 1 to 9. If the number inside the fraction is the same as the number on the square next to it, the player writes that number in the square next to the fraction and keeps playing. If the number isn’t the same, the player pulls the number from the bingo board and tries again. The game is over when all the squares are filled.
2. Fraction Tic-Tac-Toe: Print out a Tic-Tac-Toe board with fraction squares on it. Players draw a square and cover it with a number from 1 to 9. If the number inside the fraction is the same as the number on the square next to it, the player writes that number in the square next to the fraction and keeps playing. If the number isn’t the same, the player pulls the number from the Tic-Tac-Toe board and tries again. The game is over when all the squares are filled.
3. Fraction Truth or Dare: Write each number 1 through 9 on small cards or flashcards. Have players take turns asking each other questions about the numbers. For example, if someone asks you if the number 3 is a fraction, you will have to answer with a truth or dare question. If someone asks you if the number 9 is a fraction, you would have to answer with a truth or dare question. The game is over when someone gets caught cheating or when the cards run out.
4. Fraction Memory: Print out a memory game board with fraction squares on it. Players take turns flipping over cards with fraction names on them. There are usually six cards per player. The first player to get all the cards in their hand wins.
