Description
This group will examine the issues involved with classroom management at the PreK-12 level. The group will discuss the different philosophies, models and concrete strategies that can be used to guide and maintain classroom organization and control, as well as those strategies used to defuse or redirect inappropriate adolescent behaviors. Student motivation and the relationship between curriculum content and student motivation will be discussed. Building a positive, supportive, and challenging learning environment will be emphasized as the pivotal mechanism for the shaping of appropriate academic behaviors in both inclusive and general classroom situations.
