The group will investigate the theory, practice, and research in early literacy acquisition and discuss this in a range of contexts, including emergent literacy, word identification, comprehension, writing, invented spelling, and phonemic awareness. A key focus will be on conventional and atypical literacy development and teaching methods suitable for pre-school and early elementary levels.
