Head Start programs cater to children between 3 and 5 years old and help all participating kids succeed. Family well-being: Program services are offered to parents and families to promote family well-being and achieve family goals, such as financial security, housing stability, and continued education. Programs engage families in the development and learning of their child and support and bolster parent-child relationships.
Health: Physical development and health are important for early learning opportunities that require kids to fully experience and explore their environment. Head Start programs offer healthy and safe learning experiences indoors and outdoors. All kids receive nutritious meals and health screenings. Programs also connect families with medical, mental, and dental health services to ensure kids are getting the care and attention they need. Kids receive support for developing resiliency to cope with possible negative effects of trauma. Families also get mental health consultations focused on every child’s needs.
