Academics: Completing a master’s degree in School Counseling. The Counseling and Guidance program has to meet the national and state standards.
Experience Requirements: Program must include a practicum in a k-12 school setting as the degree requirements.
Assessment: Must require a passing score by the 4th year of employment. (1) Praxis I: Reading: 172, Writing: 171, Mathematics: 173; and (2) Praxis II: Principles of Learning & Teaching: K-6: 163 or 7-12: 157; (3) Praxis II: School Counseling and Guidance: 580.
