How to Stay Safe During Parties and College Events

As the college year comes to a close and students prepare for their summer break, many will be taking part in big gatherings. But just because these events are fun doesn’t mean that they are without risk. Here are some tips to keep yourself safe during these events:

1. Stick to a Plan
If you are going to a party, make sure to have a plan. Beforehand, figure out what you want to do there, where you are going, and with whom you are going. Make sure to stick to your plan.

2. Do Not Drink Alone
Drinking alcohol is a common part of college parties, but it is also important to remember that it is easy to get carried away. If you are planning to drink, make sure to do so with someone you know and trust. If you are planning to drink, do not drink alone.

3. Do Not Leave Your Drink unattended
It is also important to remember that alcohol can be dangerous if it is left unattended. If you are going to leave your drink, make sure to take it with you. Do not leave it on the table or in a nearby chair. If you do, someone else may be able to take it and drink it.

4. Do Not Drink and Drive
Drinking and driving is never a good idea. If you are planning to drink and drive – do not. Driving while impaired by alcohol is a criminal offense and can lead to serious consequences.

5. Use Common Sense
Finally, remember to use common sense when attending a party. Do not drink if you are underage or pregnant, and do not drink if you are already drunk. Use your common sense and caution to stay safe and have a fun night.
