St. Peters Central High School has put Missouri on the map in the world of STEM education. A team of five seniors from the school has clinched first place in the prestigious National Innovation Challenge, beating out over 500 other teams from across the country.

The winning project, titled “GreenSync,” is an innovative system that synchronizes renewable energy sources with smart home technology to optimize energy consumption and reduce carbon footprints. The team’s solution impressed judges with its practical application and potential for immediate impact on climate change mitigation efforts.

Team leader Sarah Johnson commented, “We wanted to create something that could make a real difference in our community and beyond. GreenSync shows that even high school students can contribute to solving global challenges.”

The victory comes with a $100,000 grant for the school’s STEM program and internship opportunities for team members at leading tech companies. St. Peters Mayor Tom Smith hailed the win as “a testament to the exceptional quality of education in our city and the bright minds it nurtures.”
