Literacy Specialist at PRESS (Path to Reading Excellence at School Sites)
I have worked in diverse urban, suburban, and rural elementary schools in Wisconsin and California; I am also a licensed elementary, ESL, and K-12 reading teacher in the state of Minnesota. My roles in the public schools have included: elementary classroom teacher, ESL teacher, English Language Development chair, and peer coach in literacy and technological practices. I hold an M.A.Ed. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a B.A. in Elementary Education. I am currently a Literacy Specialist for Path to Reading Excellence in School Sites (PRESS) a framework for literacy improvement housed at the Minnesota Center for Reading Research at the University of Minnesota, and have presented at local, state, and national conferences.
