Northwest Missouri State University is a public, four-year institution with a mean class size of 27 and a student/faculty ratio of 22 to 1. Its 70-acre campus in Maryville, Missouri, is the designated Missouri Arboretum and features over 130 tree species. Each of the 7,000 students at Northwest receives a laptop computer for school use. Northwest offers a total of 135 undergraduate and 36 master’s programs over a variety of majors. Campus life is robust, and Northwest has 150 student organizations and clubs, a robust Greek life, and many interesting intramurals. When it comes to intercollegiate athletics, the Northwest Bearcats have a formidable reputation. They participate in the NCAA Division II Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and have won national championships in football, cheerleading, and wrestling.
