UGA Approved to Provide MDs to Medical Students from New School of Medicine

The University of Georgia (UGA) has received approval from the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents to provide Doctor of Medical degrees to students in its new medical school. This milestone follows the university’s announcement of the new College of Medicine earlier this year. The medical school aims to address the physician shortage in Georgia and is expected to generate significant economic impact. Construction is set to begin in spring 2025, with completion anticipated by December 2026.
