University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Appoints Andrea Stewart as Interim Chancellor

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) has announced the appointment of Dr. Andrea Stewart as its Interim Chancellor, effective January 1, 2023. Dr. Stewart, a seasoned higher education administrator, brings over 25 years of experience in academia and leadership roles to her new position.

As Interim Chancellor, Dr. Stewart will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the university, ensuring the continued growth and success of UAPB’s academic programs, research initiatives, and community engagement efforts. With a strong background in student affairs, academic affairs, and institutional effectiveness, Dr. Stewart is well-equipped to navigate the challenges and opportunities facing the university.

Dr. Stewart’s professional career spans multiple institutions, including the University of Arkansas System, the University of Central Arkansas, and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Most recently, she served as the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where she was instrumental in developing and implementing student engagement initiatives, enhancing student success, and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Stewart holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grambling State University, a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She is a Certified Association of State Colleges and Universities (ACPA) and a Certified Higher Education Professional (CHEP).

Dr. Stewart’s appointment as Interim Chancellor is a significant milestone in the history of UAPB, which has been making strides in recent years to strengthen its academic programs, enhance its research infrastructure, and increase its presence in the region.
