What Is a Change Management Plan?

A change management plan (CMP) is a document that outlines the steps needed to be taken to implement a change within an organization successfully. It should be tailored to the specific needs of the organization, and should be updated as needed .The CMP should also be prepared in advance of any change, and should be updated as needed.

A change management plan should include the following:

    An overview of the change, including the purpose and objectives of the change.

    The specific areas and functions of the organization that will be affected by the change.

    How the change will be communicated to employees, and how they will be notified of the change.

    What went well and what went wrong during the change, and what can be done to improve next time.

    Any resources or references that may be helpful during the change process.
