What Is an Electromechanical Degree?

A degree in electromechanical engineering (EME) prepares students for careers in industry and research. EME graduates typically find employment in the design and manufacture of electronic and mechanical devices.

There are three main types of EME degrees:

Mechanical engineering: This degree focuses on the design, manufacture, and operation of machines and structures.

Computer engineering: This degree focuses on the design, development, and operation of computer systems.

Electrical engineering: This degree focuses on the design, development, and operation of electrical systems.

There are various jobs that an electromechanical engineer could pursue. These jobs may include work in the design and manufacturing of machinery and equipment, research and development in the area of electromechanical engineering, or working in a service setting, such as a mechanical or electrical engineering company.
