What motivated you to run for the Laredo College Board?
“I am deeply invested in the future of Laredo and its residents. Education is the key to unlocking that future, and I believe Laredo College plays a crucial role in providing opportunities for personal and professional growth. I’m running because I want to be a voice for students, faculty, and the community, ensuring the college remains responsive to the needs of our evolving world.”
What are your top priorities if elected to the board?
“My priorities focus on three key areas: accessibility, affordability, and relevance. I want to ensure Laredo College remains accessible to all, regardless of their background or circumstances. This includes addressing affordability concerns, ensuring financial aid is available, and exploring new ways to reduce the cost of education. Additionally, I believe the college’s programs and curriculum must remain relevant to the demands of the local and global job market. We need to equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the 21st century.”
What experience or skills do you bring to the table that make you qualified for this position?
“I have a strong understanding of the challenges facing higher education today. I have a proven track record of community engagement, advocating for educational equity, and fostering collaboration. Addressing these challenges requires a collaborative approach, engaging stakeholders from all sectors of our community.”
