This group allows educators to explore the origins, assessment, symptoms, and treatment of mental diseases and disorders. We will pay specific attention to how cultural, gender, racial, and other socio-cultural variables influence how psychopathology manifests itself. During the group’s discussion, there will be an emphasis on the various uses of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to assess and diagnose mental diseases and disorders.
