This group discusses the theory and processes related to teaching reading at an intermediate grade level. We will focus on all aspects, including children’s literature, assessment, design of a curriculum, and teaching methods. There will be a particular emphasis on curricular strategies to teach comprehension and critically analyze both non-fiction and fiction books.
