After a successful 14-year tenure as a prominent administrator at Kirkwood Community College, Dr. Helen S. Wilson has been appointed to succeed Dr. Bryan Mollenhauer on the college’s board of trustees. Wilson, who has been serving as the college’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, will take over as the chair of the board, effective July 1st.
During her tenure at Kirkwood, Wilson has been a driving force behind the college’s growth and development, playing a key role in shaping the institution’s academic and strategic initiatives. Her dedication to student success, academic excellence, and community engagement has earned her widespread recognition and respect within the higher education community.
Mollenhauer, who has been serving as the chair of the board since 2016, has announced his plans to step down, citing a desire to focus on his personal and professional pursuits. “I am proud to have had the opportunity to serve Kirkwood Community College and its students for the past seven years,” said Mollenhauer. “I am confident that Dr. Wilson will bring a unique perspective and vision to the board, and I am excited to see the college continue to thrive under her leadership.”
