University of North Florida names Stephen Dittmore as College of Education and Human Services Dean

The University of North Florida (UNF) has announced the appointment of Stephen Dittmore as the new Dean of the College of Education and Human Services. Dittmore brings extensive experience in higher education leadership and a deep commitment to student success to this pivotal role.

Dittmore, a seasoned academic leader with over two decades of experience in higher education, joins UNF from the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he served as Associate Dean for the College of Education and Human Performance. He has a proven track record of fostering collaboration, promoting innovation, and advocating for faculty and student success.

“Dr. Dittmore’s expertise in educational leadership, coupled with his unwavering dedication to student achievement, make him an ideal leader for our College of Education and Human Services,” said UNF Provost Dr. Michael Brannock. “We are confident that he will play a critical role in advancing our mission of preparing future educators and human service professionals who are equipped to make a positive impact on our community and beyond.”

In his new role, Dittmore will oversee a diverse range of academic programs, including teacher education, social work, counseling, and human development. He will also be responsible for promoting research, community engagement, and faculty development within the college.

Dittmore holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida and has been recognized for his research contributions in areas such as teacher preparation, professional development, and leadership. His appointment is effective immediately, and he is eager to embark on this new chapter at UNF.
