‘Why I gave prize money to Palestinian cause’ – Saleem Badat

The world often forgets. It forgets the plight of the Palestinian people, their decades-long struggle for self-determination, and the constant human cost of their occupation. It forgets the injustices they face, the daily violations of their fundamental rights. This is why I, Saleem Badat, chose to donate my prize money to the Palestinian cause.

It wasn’t an easy decision. This money was the culmination of years of hard work, representing a significant achievement. However, I believe we have a responsibility to use our platforms and resources to advocate for those who are marginalized and denied their basic human rights.

The Palestinian struggle is not just about land, it’s about dignity. It’s about the right to live in peace and security, to build a future for their children without the constant threat of violence and oppression. This is the future I want to support, a future where Palestinian children can go to school without fear, where families can live in their homes without the threat of demolition, where they can finally exercise their right to self-determination.

My donation may be a small contribution, but it represents a stand. A stand for justice, for equality, and for the right of the Palestinian people to live with dignity and freedom. It’s a message to the world: we cannot ignore the suffering of the Palestinian people. It’s time to act, to speak out, and to stand in solidarity with them.

I urge everyone to join me in supporting the Palestinian cause, in whatever way they can. Let us stand together and work towards a future where Palestine is free and its people are finally able to live in peace and security.
