ABC Alphabet Phonics– A free app that teaches toddlers and young children who are learning to speak. By applying various senses (sight, sound, etc.), children can learn the alphabet and a few other optional subjects. Parents can also customize the app using their voice and taking photos of their child’s favorite items to make the experience more stimulating and personal.

ABC Alphabet Phonics: Song– An entertaining learning experience for children new to the alphabet. They learn the name and the sound the letters make when used in words while having so much fun that they do not realize they are learning. Supported on both iPhone and iPad.

ABC MAGIC– Help your child master phonology and pronunciation using this app. Children can choose to either match letters to pictures or pictures to letters. This helps them associate letters with their most popular pronunciation. Both the letters and pictures have touch-activated sound features to help children learn and retain what they learn.  

ABC Phonics –  Short Vowel Words– Allows growing kids to master phonics by shooting missiles to identify words from the submarine they are navigating. PhonicsOne is especially for kids learning to read; PhonicsTwo and PhonicsThree are available for middle school kids. Children are rewarded with jewels and a mini game upon completion of a level.

ABC Phonics – Rhyming Words–Helps children to master phonics by matching rhyming word pairs. Children are rewarded with jewels and a mini game upon completion of a level. This app also helps children recognize how consonant and vowel placements affect pronunciation, such as in “ch” and “sh.”

ABC Phonics – Make a Word Provides both phonics and spelling solutions to children who are learning to read. All the words have short vowel sounds. Phonics Advanced is available for older children, and it comes with longer and double vowel sounds. It also helps children recognize how consonant and vowel placements affect pronunciation.

ABC Phonics – Animated Designed using the expertise of phonics teachers, this app is an excellent introduction to phonics. Letters are written on the screen with animated tracing for the child to follow, and the app pronounces the letters for the child. This combination helps the child build a solid basis to grow.

ABC Phonics – Word Family Tree– Combines phonics, spelling, beginning sound word family phonics, short vowel sounds, and images with many visual enhancements for each word. The app includes a total of 56-word family groups to be used to teach short and long vowels, spelling, and pronunciation using the Montessori Method.

ABC Spelling Magic 1– With ABC Spelling magic, your child learns the sounds letters make and how to use them to form words. The app also teaches the child to segment, which is a vital part of learning to read. The first portion of the app uses a limited number of letters to form words while the second portion contains all 26 letters of the alphabet. The app teaches the child to spell words using three phonetic sounds and short vowel sounds.

ABC Spelling Magic 2 This advanced stage focuses on using consonant clusters to form words. The app also teaches the child to segment, which is a vital part of learning to read. The first portion of the app uses a limited number of letters to form words while the section portion contains all 26 letters of the alphabet.

ABC Spelling Magic 3– The third stage in the series, t This app gives your child the chance to learn 4- to 7-letter word constructions with multiple syllables. It contains nine sections with 108 words to keep your child interested.

Sound Literacy – Sound Literacy is an instructional tool for building literacy, including phonemic awareness, phonological processing, and morphemic word building. It is primarily meant to be used by a teacher or tutor with the student as no themes or concept packages are included. The app is composed of letter tiles, blank tiles, and all common spelling patterns. Specially designed spelling ladders allow students to build and compare phonemes. Also included are phoneme maps, the ability to customize tilesets, and popovers that indicate various ways to spell each phoneme from most to least common. Sound Literacy is a valuable addition to any word study program or literacy time.

Sound Salad – An app used to train concentration, attentive listening, and imaginative and critical thinking; Sound Salad is a sound-object association game. Students match objects with sounds to help Mr. Ear on his journey toward perfect harmony. There are eight levels with 96 objects and sounds, which can be played at three degrees of difficulty: easy, advanced, and speed. Sound-object association has been shown to improve phonological awareness and perception skills, which are foundational for language development. Funny Phonemes Slang Fest!– The Funny Phonemes slang fest is created for older kids to practice hearing phonemes and the arrangement of missing words. With over 250 words, which include schoolyard epithets, surfing terms, and social media lingo, kids will learn and identify phonemes.

The Joy of Reading – Designed to support early reading, The Joy of Reading includes nine multi-level games with explicit instruction in phonics and phonemic awareness. The Joy of Reading includes these foundational skills, which are all aligned to Kindergarten Common Core State Standards: phonemic awareness, letter tracing, letter recognition, rhyming and blending sounds, differentiation of long and short vowel sounds, spelling, recognition of compound words, recollection of common high-frequency words, and reading emergent-reader texts with fluency. There are three different game modes for teachers or parents to choose from, including a guided learning path, free play, and practice with specific words in the ABC dictionary. This app can be used as an early preparatory tool at home or as a complement to in-class instruction.
