Supplies are unloaded at the Foothills Higher Education Center after Helene

The Foothills Higher Education Center (FHEC) is slowly regaining its footing after the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene.  While the storm’s immediate impact was felt across the region, the FHEC, a vital resource for the community, was particularly hard hit.

Now, a glimmer of hope shines through the wreckage as trucks filled with supplies are unloaded at the center, a testament to the resilient spirit of the community and the dedication of those working to rebuild.

The supplies, donated by local businesses and individuals, include essential items like building materials, cleaning supplies, and food. These donations will be vital in supporting the FHEC’s recovery process and enabling them to resume their crucial role in providing educational opportunities for the community.

“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received,” said Dr. Susan Miller, FHEC President.  “The community has rallied together in a remarkable way.  These donations will help us get back on our feet and continue to serve the educational needs of our students and the surrounding community.”

The unloading of supplies marks a significant step in the FHEC’s recovery journey.  The center is working diligently to assess the damage, prioritize repairs, and develop a plan for reopening. While the road to recovery will be long, the spirit of collaboration and determination is evident, promising a brighter future for the Foothills Higher Education Center.
