Ello Partners with Civic Suds to Promote Literacy and Get Families Reading While at Local Laundromats Throughout the DC Area

Ello, a non-profit dedicated to fostering a love of reading in young children, has partnered with Civic Suds, a local laundromat chain, to bring books and literacy resources to families in the Washington, D.C. area. The unique collaboration aims to create a welcoming space for families to enjoy reading while they wait for their laundry.

Through this partnership, Civic Suds locations will be stocked with books for children of all ages, donated by Ello. Families can browse the shelves, pick out books to enjoy during their laundry time, or even take a book home to read later.  Ello will also be hosting interactive literacy activities and story times at various Civic Suds locations throughout the year.

“We believe that literacy is the key to a brighter future for all children,” says [Name], Executive Director of Ello. “This partnership with Civic Suds allows us to reach families who might not otherwise have access to books and literacy resources. We want to make reading fun and accessible for everyone.”

“Civic Suds is committed to serving our community,” says [Name], owner of Civic Suds. “We are excited to partner with Ello to bring this valuable program to our laundromats. We know that many of our customers are busy parents who struggle to find time for reading with their children. This partnership provides a convenient and enjoyable way for families to connect and engage in literacy.”

The partnership between Ello and Civic Suds is a testament to the power of community collaboration. By bringing books and literacy resources to a place where families already gather, the initiative aims to make a real difference in the lives of young children throughout the DC area, one book, one story, and one laundry load at a time.
